This is the MAIN EVENT!!!!

it’s finally today!  turnout is looking to be well above expatations.  should have 10+ setups running just about everything anyone would ever want to play.  as an added bonus, my family from Oregon whom I haven’t seen in almost 20 years drove up yesterday and will be attending!!!

The gallery show Bloody-Knuckles, currently on display at the Canoe Social Club and Gallery at Theatre off Jackson, will be wrapping up it’s run with the “Main Event”. A day of fighting games and art!

Two weeks. Happy ValeNewYears

two weeks until the Main event! things are coming along nicely, I think I have enough hardware and bodies. and if the facebook event page RSVPs show I’ll break even.  anyway…  for now, please enjoy this electronic greeting card I stole from capcom.

The Show

just a quick photo update. I’ll be adding more images soon, mostly trying to figure out the gallery plugin.

The Opening

The Opening was last night and I have to say it was a smashing success!  there was a great turnout form the fighting game communities. and the artists that attended were really impressed by the show (that part was sweet).  as usual I took my camera and then completely forgot to take any pictures!  I”ll remedy that tomorrow, for now I’ll just steal images from other people.

we had an impromptu SFIV tournament  the winners will receive seed spots in the Main Event singles tournament.  19 people entered, though had I announced the tournament earlier in the evening I’m sure more people would have stuck around.

The winners

1:Ceramic Sugar
2:Ghrrk
3: JalapNo
4: Riki-Oh
5: Jais
5: FrankDaDank
7: Hyre
7: ImperatorPat

The Bracket

Artist Profile: Nick Kondo

Although the age and origin of his species, especially of the age and origin of the so-called “civilization” of his species is still hotly debated, one thing is for sure: having opposable thumbs has really set him apart from the other animals on his planet.

Utilizing his opposable thumbs, this descendant of either the ape or of ancient high civilization (depending on who you talk to), has produced works of art, and has displayed them here just for you!

In the future, he also hopes to share with you 2D moving pictures, the photographs he has wrangled from his camera.

Artist Profile: Nicole Bianchi

Self taught fiber artist.  I have been playing video games since birth.

Artist Profile: James Showecker

James Showecker

AKA: Jimmy the Saint

James Showecker is a commercial artist working in the video game industry.  He also enjoys playing 2D fighting games, mainly from the Street Fighter series.  Currently he is playing Street Fighter 4 and eagerly awaiting Super Street Fighter 4.  Producing art related to Street Fighter is a fun hobby of his.  Almost as fun as playing Street Fighter.
